Another awesome recipe that been shared in our group!

This time we feature Pitmaster Brad Heatstr Heatley!

AWESOME Butter rubbed rib roast! your family is going to love it!

Let’s get started!

Brad used an 8lb, 3 bone rib roast. Smoked in an offset charcoal smoker with wood chunks.

This will work well with any smoker along as you follow temps and directions.

For the Butter mix

1 lb of butter

1/2 Tbsp of onion powder

1/2 Tbsp of garlic powder

1/2 Tbsp of black pepper

1/2 Tbsp of oregano

1/2 Tbsp of thyme

1/2 Tbsp of cayenne

1/2 Tbsp of kosher salt

Process and directions:

Heat up smoker till it hits 225 degrees while you coat the roast with butter mix.

Than smoke at 225 for 40 mins per lb.

I used Kamado Joe big block with hickory and mesquite wood chunks.

Smoked with wood chunks for the first 2 1/2 hours and just charcoal for the last 3 hours.

Smoked till 140 internal temp.

Then a quick sear on the grill at 450-500 degrees.

Remove from grill and let rest for 30 mins. Slice and serve.

It was tender, juicy and flavourful. The whole family enjoyed it!
